Double Crunch Transparent Overdrive

Two Crunch pedals. One enclosure. Three modes. The Double Crunch puts a complete Original Crunch and a complete Extra Crunch in one box—two independent circuits sharing only the power supply. Engage Original only, Extra only, or both for the same sound as stacking Extra Crunch in front of Original Crunch.

Extra Crunch (right side); Original Crunch (left side). When both are engaged, stock routing is Extra → Original.

Transparent overdrive for working guitarists and bassists who want multiple voicings on stage and in sessions—without giving up two spots on the board.

Why pros choose the Double Crunch

  • Two complete circuits — not a dual-channel gimmick; each side is a full Crunch Transparent Overdrive
  • Three footswitch modes — Original only, Extra Crunch only, or both engaged
  • Stack preset built in — both on = Extra Crunch → Original Crunch in series (same as two singles stacked, right to left on your board)
  • Your tone stays yours — same transparent, amp-like clipping as the single Crunch
  • Board-friendly — top-mounted jacks, ~15–20 mA draw, depending on LED brightness
  • Hand-soldered in British Columbia, Canada — high-grade components, true bypass on each circuit

Three modes — how the signal flows

Right side (Extra Crunch): Black knobs and blue LED—~30% more gain than Original.

Left side (Original): Cream knobs and Amber LED.

Stock routing when both are on: Extra Crunch → Original Crunch.

Custom routing by special order: Yes, we can build alternate paths—Original → Extra, Original → Original, or Extra → Extra. Special Orders →

Trusted by working players

“This is a ridiculously good pedal!”
— Paul Pigat on the Double Crunch Transparent Overdrive

“The Extra Crunch is an incredibly open and airy sounding overdrive. It really keeps your original sound intact while giving you a bit of amp-like grind. Killer pedal!”
— Joey Landreth, The Bros. Landreth

“Love love love my double crunch! sounds so nice in my Friedman Dirty Shirley!”
— Marc Parent, April Wine

“The number one pedal on my board. Absolutely great for getting a fantastic blues, roots, or low-gain rhythm or lead tone without coloring the tone of my guitar or amp. Just an invaluable tone tool for the professional guitarist.”
— Michael Schau, blues/rock session player

“Run the Crunch to taste and experience a ‘super transparent’ overdrive whose overtones and harmonics are musically focused. My first test strum gave me goose bumps—it felt so real and unprocessed.”
— Anthony DellaCroce, The Headpins

How to use it

  • Original side only (left): Start Volume, Tone, and Gain at 1 o'clock on the left side. Bring up Gain for crunch; Volume to push your amp's front end.
  • Extra Crunch side only (right): Same starting point on the right side (black knobs). More gain headroom when you want a dirtier transparent drive.
  • Both engaged (stack): Dial each side to taste—signal runs Extra (right) → Original (left), same as two Crunch pedals on a right-to-left board. Great for more saturation while keeping your core tone.
  • Switch voicings live: Use one footswitch for subtle edge-of-breakup, the other for more push—no reaching for a second pedal. Both for even more.
  • After fuzz: Place your fuzz before the Double Crunch with both sides on you get a fuzz-into-a-cranked-amp feel at manageable volume—especially sweet with The Classic Fuzz.
  • LED brightness: Side trim pot on each circuit (jeweler's screwdriver)—from dark stage to bright sun.
